STARS Online is a new way to apply for scholarships starting the fall 2011 semester. Students begin by filling out a basic profile and answering scholarship-specific questions. Then they answer four typical scholarship essay questions in only a couple paragraphs. Once the profile is complete, you’ll see a summary of scholarships you should qualify for.
ONE and DONE
You only have to upload letters of recommendation once; you only have to upload your transcript once! Your letters and transcripts will be automatically sent to each scholarship. If a scholarship application requires a little something extra such as a fuller essay, then you will have a chance to upload it to only that application.
It’s all done online! And the best part is you’ll receive congratulations or regret letters for each scholarship will be sent to your email. If you haven’t heard back from some of the scholarships you applied for, you can also login and check the status of each application. If you are awarded scholarship monies, they will be given to you via MSRP the same way financial aid is awarded. You can choose to receive a paper check, CITI pre-paid debit card or direct deposit into a personal checking or savings account.
